Airborne

Picture taken during a visit to Unicon XV in Wellington today. This was at the preliminaries for the flatlanders competition (sort of like skateboard tricks but on a flat area.)

More Photos
kiwilessa
So i went out and bought a new camera today - and i took a photo of the same flower as yesterday to do a comparison of shots/quality etc.

Photo on left is via my new Samsung PL50 and photo on right is from my Nokia 6121c cell phone.

And how about today's 365 challenge photo:

I'm stunned at the quality of the close up.

Now i'm off to read the manual and explore more settings!

updating stuff - spring cleaning
kiwilessa
I've just spent the last hour or so updating software - Mars Edit and Evernote - I also transferred a bunch of notes into a new "book" for 2009 in Evernote ... seems everywhere i am involves some kind of spring cleaning (only it's summer so do i call it summer cleaning?)

at school i'm still unpacking boxes and chucking stuff that i no longer need (and have nowhere to store); at home i'm doing the same including sorting out clothing i'm not ever going to wear again

Let's encourage our kids to be creative ...

Here's something very creative - it could become my favourite rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus.

Kiwi Christmas
kiwilessa
It's evening on Christmas Day. Kind of a chilly day but the sun did come out and I did venture down for a walk on the beach. Some pictures from the walk. Beach Entrance Looking North up the beach Looking South Even a biplane buzzing around Kapiti Island Pohutukawa tree (NZ Christmas tree)

RIP Bundle
kiwilessa
Spacey's cat Bundle went downhill rapidly last week and we had to take her to the vet to be put to sleep.

RIP Bundle

kiwi lingo
kiwilessa
i just received in the mail some fridge magnets - the poetry type - only these are kiwi lingo examples - thought i might amuse people with some examples:

take a hike

guts for garters

pakaru-ed

strapped for cash

nana nap

the olds

across the ditch

ripped off

sussed out

dreaded lurgy

rough as guts

buggered

neck of the woods

flat stick

hard case

away laughing

piece of piss

boo-eye

up the creek

down the gurgler

even stevens

tiki tour

arvo

carked it

Wonder if anyone can guess what these all mean.
